Mr. Yi Wang, the president of Minghong Vehicle Phils.Crop, attended the summit and delivered a speech.
“We have the most advanced production lines in southwest of China, high temperature dust-free coating lines, off-site welding robots. We believe that we can provide more people with green clean energy transportation and transportation tools, provide more employment opportunities, and make The World is yours...” Mr. Wang Yi pointed out that “More and more users will be willing to own an electric car.”
“Are EVs finally taking off? There is no doubt! According to the latest report of the global consulting firm Frost & Sullivan, in 2017, the global electric vehicle sales reached 1 million for the first time, reaching 1.2 million, and electric vehicles accounted for the vast majority of sales. In 2018, The global electric vehicle sales will reach 1.6 million, and the number of public charging stations will reach 100,000. Today there are 3.3 million electric vehicles in use around the world. China and Europe together make up about 75 percent of the global EV market,” Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) President and spokesperson Rommel T. Juan said.
EVAP President Juan said that in the Philippines, he sees a continuing momentum for EV sales driven by the many ongoing public and private initiatives. At the same time he expressed optimism that the recently enacted TRAIN Law exempting electric vehicles from the excise tax, due in part to EV stakeholders’ representation with Congress, would pave the way for more affordable EV models and increased investments in supporting infrastructure which will help sustain the momentum for electric mobility.
Mr. Yi Wang also pointed out the positive progress since the establishment of the joint venture company in the Philippines.
“Our two-day event is all about building partnerships, aligning objectives, and taking collective action to facilitate further adoption of electric vehicles in the country,” Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) President and spokesperson Rommel T. Juan said.
